Back in the year 2000, Mr. Atul Saxena was in London to attend an international summit on Renewable Energy. He was searching for a food counter when he accidentally stumbled upon a conference room where a session on ‘biofuels’ was about to begin. He thought of skipping his lunch to attend this session and this turned out to be a life-changing decision of his life. He returned to India, started researching this sector, and began his journey in the biofuel sector.
In the year 2003, the Government of India’s planning commission (Now Niti Aayog) made a task force to research biofuels and appointed Mr. Atul Saxena as one of the key members of the team. Since then, Growdiesel has worked on various projects. We developed and commercialized technologies to generate biofuel from sources like Algae, Jatropha, Moringa, Napier Grass, Press Mud, Paddy Stubble, and other biomass.

Mr Atul Saxena has a flair to visualize the market or societal needs of times to come and can therefore fore-see the changes and evolvement of the business landscape that is yet to happen. His Bachelor’s degree from NDRI, Karnal, India provided him with an integrated education base and insights into the fields starting from dairy farming & village extension to milk and food processing to process engineering & equipment to project management & marketing.

Shrey is a second-generation social entrepreneur at Growdiesel. He is an IT Engineer by qualification. In July 2022, he received the prestigious Diana Award from the British Royal Family for his social innovative projects. His first stint with social entrepreneurship was at the age of 14 in the computer lab of Cambridge School. His venture generates an additional 6 figure in revenue for the school every year since 2013. He is an internationally recognized public speaker and has worked with various organizations in the past since the age of 18.

These include BioCNG (a substitute for petrol and CNG), green premium diesel (a substitute for conventional diesel), and green Aviation Turbine Fuel (a substitute for petroleum jet fuel) The biggest USP of Growdiesel NextGenFuels™ is that they are Drop-in Fuels it means they can replace fossil fuels in existing engines, vehicles, equipment and entire existing petroleum infrastructure without any modifications. Use of Growdiesel NextGenFuels™ signifies great savings in fresh investments in designing/developing new engines/infrastructure. Growdiesel has Research & Manufacturing Facilities in India. Our specialization lies in developing high-risk ideas into high-value businesses. Two laws govern Mother Earth. The are-law of conservation of matter and law of conservation of energy. Matter and energy can neither be created nor destroyed. They only change through various forms. The life cycle is thus an integration of various elemental cycles. It is important that all these cycles must continue in an undisturbed fashion to maintain Nature’s Cycle.
We must look at every material as a potential resource for fuel. The concept of waste, therefore, needs to be revamped in totality. In fact, there is no waste generated in Nature. Every component that is generated is a part of some cycle. Hence each waste should be reused. We must change the name of Waste BIN to Resource Bin. This will help to change the mental attitude. At present all type of waste is disposed of directly at nearby collection spots.
A substantial quantity of farm waste/cattle waste is used in an undigested manner for the cultivation of vegetables/crops etc. It is a major cause of pathogens getting into the food chain & causing widespread diseases. As per our observations, around 90 to 95% of waste generated by such farms is biodegradable and can be effectively converted to renewable oil and gas using advanced technologies being developed by Growdiesel.

As per projections by DOE, USA, the Global clean fuel business is pegged at US$ four trillion by the year 2030. The Indian market is growing at over 7% per anum. Growdiesel is poised to be a leading global player with a substantial market share by 2030.
